Grab Bag with whale’s belly, falling ground and a young lion

On to the new schedule. The Monday Grab Bag is here! (on Wednesday :x )
This is kind of on purpose. The podcast episode was released on Monday, so a little buffer between it and the Grab Bag. Next Monday you can expect the next Grab Bag. :)

On to the first question!

Was Jonah really in the belly of a whale?

Matthew 12:40
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Absolutely, for 3 days and 3 nights even!

Did Paul fall from a horse?

Acts 9:3-4
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Acts 22:6-7
6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Acts 26:14-15
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

It doesn’t say whether or not he was on a horse. We just know he fell to the earth/ground on the road to Damascus.

Who with the Spirit of the Lord rent a young lion?

Judges 14:5-6
5 Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
6 And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

Let God be magnified!
